What stays on your Mac

Everything you enter or add to Rendr: clients, leads, proposals, applications, resumes, saved jobs, notes, settings and files. It's stored in a database on your Mac. Your Claude API key and Contra sign-in are encrypted with your Mac's keychain.

Rendr has no analytics, tracking or crash reporting.

When Rendr connects to other services

Rendr only connects to a service when a feature you turned on needs it:

• Anthropic (Claude): when you use an AI feature, Rendr sends the information that task needs (for example, a job description and your resume when tailoring) to Anthropic's API using your own key. Anthropic's privacy policy covers how they handle it.
• Contra: if you connect Contra, Rendr reads your jobs, invoices, payments and messages. It never writes to your Contra account.
• Job boards: the Job finder reads public listings from Remotive, Remote OK, We Work Remotely, Himalayas, Jobicy and, if you add a key, Adzuna. It sends your search terms, not your personal details.
• Company careers pages: for companies you choose to watch, Rendr reads their public job listings.
• Websites you audit: Rendr opens the site you enter, like a visitor would.
• GitHub: Rendr checks GitHub for new versions of itself.

Backups

Rendr saves a daily backup to a folder you choose. If that folder is in iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive or another sync service, that service syncs it under its own terms.

Your control

From Settings you can export everything to a folder, or delete all of Rendr's data from your Mac. Removing Rendr from your Applications folder and deleting its data folder removes it completely.

This website

The request access form collects your name, your email and, if you add it, the kind of work you do. I use it only to send you the install file and beta updates. I don't sell it or share it. Form entries are stored by Webflow, which hosts this site. To be taken off the list, email me and I'll delete your details.

This site doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers. It loads fonts and scripts from outside services such as Google Fonts and jsDelivr, and uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep spam out of the form. Those services can see your IP address when they deliver their files.
